After WWI, the folks in Legerwood Tasmania banded together and planted a series of trees in memory of their brothers, sons, fathers, friends lost to the war. They grew quickly, transforming the streets of the town, a constant reminder of the valiant and courageous heroes. In time though, these proud and imposing trees grew to a dangerous height and, much to the distress of the locals, had to be lopped. Faced with the question of how to continue to honor the memory of the war heroes, they townspeople comissioned an artist to carve sculptures out of the stumps, and here you have one :)
